Reflections of the Dawn

I stood upon the crest of the highest mountain, Calling down to those who dared to follow. That I had attained the greatest of heights. But a voice from above called out to me: ‘Rest not upon your foolish pride for you have taken but a single step. And as you await those to come, there are those that patiently wait for you.’ By Daniel

 My Cup is overflowing

I’ve never made a fortune
and it’s probably too late now,
But I don’t worry about that much
I’m happy anyhow.

And as I go along life’s way
I’m reaping better than I sow,
I’m drinking from my saucer
’cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven’t got a lot of riches
and sometimes the going’s tough,
But I’ve got loving ones around me
and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for many blessings
and the mercies God’s bestowed,
I’m drinking from my saucer
’cause my cup has overflowed.

O, remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin,
But all at once the dark clouds broke
and sun peeped through again.

So Lord, help me not to gripe about
the tough rows that I’ve hoed,
I’m drinking from my saucer
’cause my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage
when the way grows steep and rough,
I’ll not ask for other blessings
I’m already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy
to help others bear their loads,
Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer
’cause my cup has overflowed.

When you decide for someone what they can or cannot do, what they should or should not do, what they need or do not need, you are standing between them and God.  This does not serve you, God, or the other person.  When you decide what is right for someone, what is best for them, or how they should go about doing what you feel is right and best in their life, you are getting between that person and what God has in store for that person.  God never sleeps!  S/He know exactly what each one us needs and S/He knows how to go about delivering it to us in a way that we can understand.  When human beings learn to get out God’s way, they grow the way they need to grow.  They are able to do the things they need to do.  They move at a pace and in the direction that best serves them.  The reason God gave us each a life is so that we could take care of it.  If someone needs your insight, wait until they ask for it.  Once they do, ask their Creator what you should say.

Until today, you may have allowed your love or concern for another person to lead you to believe that you know what is best for them.  Just for today, take care of your own life.  In other words, mind your own business.

Today, I am loving and supporting of others without interfering in their lives!

Some Day at Christmas

Someday at Christmas men won’t be boys
Playing with bombs like kids play with toys
One warm December our hearts will see
A world where men are free

Someday at Christmas there’ll be no wars
When we have learned what Christmas is for
When we have found what life’s really worth
There’ll be peace on earth

Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime

Someday at Christmas we’ll see a land
with no hungry children, no empty hands
One happy morning people will share
a world where people care

Someday at Christmas there’ll be no tears
All men are equal and no man has fears
One shining moment, one prayer away
From our world today

Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime

Someday at Christmas man will not fail
hate would be gone and love will prevail
Someday a new world that we can start
With hope in every heart

Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmastime

QUALITY OF LIFE BEGINS IN YOUR MIND

It’s not what you have, but what you enjoy
that constitutes your abundance.
Your real riches are riches in your head and heart.

Wealth without enjoyment is little consolation.
True satisfaction comes from appreciating what you have.

There are two ways of being happy:
you must either diminish your wants or augment your means.
It’s always better to appreciate things you cannot have
than to have the things you cannot appreciate.

Your riches will always lie within you, not in your material possessions.
